- What did you do this past week?
This past week I didn’t do much for this class since we were just assigned project #2 on Wednesday besides attending class and studying for the in-class quizzes.
2. What’s in your way?
Currently, nothing is in my way, I am just waiting to get my assignments that are due soon completed so that I can start working on the Voting project!
3. What will you do next week?
Next week I plan to start working on the Voting project by writing a program that just handles the input and then working on coding up the simplest solution to handle the voting scheme.
4. What did you think of Paper #5: Single Responsibility Principle?
I thought the article explained a concept that I had always noticed was a good practice in software engineering but I hadn’t ever heard it explicitly explained in the way that the article presented it. I liked reading about the points that the writer made in the article and will definitely be keeping them in mind when I’m thinking of how to construct my classes.
5. What was your experience of l-values, r-values, pointers, and references? (this question will vary, week to week)
I thought this week’s lectures on l-values, r-values, pointers, and references were very interesting. I hadn’t ever learned about these concepts before because I had never coded in C++ and these concepts aren’t really as important in languages like Python and Java. I thought it was very interesting and explained a lot of the quirks in the language that I was always wondering about.
6. What made you happy this week?
I went rollerskating with a student org that I’m in and it was a lot of fun! It definitely came with a learning curve, but I think I made a lot of improvement by the end and would definitely go again. I also attended a UT baseball game and thought it was really fun and exciting!
7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week would probably be to change up your work environment every now and then! It usually helps me with my productivity when I find new places to study to keep it interesting.
